Since you have now re-formatted, removing all records of the previous files, and have now re-installed, overwriting their original locations, it is unlikely you will ever recover them. This is why you keep backups. You do keep backups?

Sorry but I doubt it’s possible.

If you are considering any time of data recovery process whether it’s software or sending it out for their party recovery ($$$$), you need to stop using your computer NOW because if the files are not already permanently lost due to a format, you could be overwriting the files locations.

You could try calling up DriveSavers and see what they say. I’m sure they can give you at least some advice or a “yes” or “no” answer even if you don’t chose to use them for data recovery.

    Good luck!

You can restore those files but you must act quickly. The data is still there but it cannot be located internally because it exists at such a low level on your hard drive. Unfortunately there is no protection for this data and it can be lost forever if you do not retrieve them right away.

You need third party software that can delve deep within your hard drive. I have personally used software that restores all kinds of files I thought were gone, such as mp3’s, word docs, emails, pictures, ect.

Scan your own computer for free with it at:
