will this work for Hard Drive recovery?

I have a raid 0 computer. I defraged my computer with a bad sector on one of the hard drives. I now need to recover some data.

Can i recover data by plugging one HD at a time into a 2.5″ HD enclosure and having another computer take the data off it?

Sure providing the drive is still functional and the data you are looking for isnt corrupt

What training do you need to do Hard Drive recovery?

Seems like a lucrative business to get into. Recovering data from physically damaged hard drives at $1,000-3,000 a pop. What does a tech need to know or where do they go to learn more? Thanks

Best reply by Justin B:

The problem is not the training, you also need a $100K or more worth of equipment and a dust controlled “clean room”. If you are seriously interested in it, I would contact an existing company that does it and ask questions.

What is the best data recovery software available. My 320Gb External Hard Disk Drive has crashed?

Need a full backup of the 320 Gb disk. If anyone has done this before. What are the exact steps I shall follow?
I had a few logical drives with different filesystems, how do I make sure the recovery software interprets this correctly!

Recuva may help. Freeware

How many of you have used Ontrack Data Recovery to successfully retrieve data from a bad hard drive?

I’m curious as to why most of the hard drives my employer sends out to Ontrack comes back with unrecoverable data. With a high evaluation cost it seems easier just to charge a quick $100 and say it can’t be recovered than actually attempting to recover data.

Best reply by Engineer Man – NASA:

For Data Recovery we had the same problem, Ontrack charges a fortune when a company like eProvided can do it for 1/4 the cost if a success.
