why is there no recovery drive on my new hard drive after i finished installing everything?

so i ran out of space on the tiny 80 gig hard drive that was in my laptop so i decided it was time to upgrade to something bigger. So i got a new seagate 500 gig hard drive and put it in, then installed windows again but i noticed after installing a couple drivers that there is no recovery drive. why isn’t there one? I am pretty sure i need one but dont know how to get one there! any help would be nice!

There is no recovery partition on your new drive because you didn’t make one.

If you have a Windows disc, then you don’t really *need* one. Save your drivers to another disc and you should be okay if you need to reinstall in the future.

Good luck.

How do I install Window Updates SP3 after I perform a recovery on my hard drive?

I did the recovery on my hard drive yesterday to erase everything. It is now clean and with all the preinstalled programs that it came with. I tried to download and install the Service Pack 3. It downloads but it does not install. I get a “acces denied” message. A window pops up giving me Error Code:0×800700005. Why is it not installing?

I would first try the windows update tool.
